Download Muralis-Setup-x.y.z.exe from the latest release and run it — the installer is bilingual (English/French) and the app is self-contained, no runtime to install. An optional task starts Muralis with Windows, minimized to the tray.
Settings and caches live in %LocalAppData%\Muralis (per-user); uninstalling removes the app and its registry entries.
Muralis releases are currently not code-signed — free open-source signing was applied for, but the project is still too young to qualify. Windows SmartScreen may therefore show a "Windows protected your PC" prompt when you run the installer: click More info → Run anyway. SmartScreen reputation builds as clean downloads accumulate, and code signing will be revisited as the project grows.
Muralis stores everything locally, sends no telemetry, and only contacts an image API when you configure a web source. If in doubt, the source is right here — you can build it yourself.
Any API that answers a GET request with JSON containing an image URL can feed a slideshow or a daily wallpaper. For example, NASA's Astronomy Picture of the Day:

The optional header/key pair covers APIs that authenticate via an HTTP header (e.g. X-API-Key).
