Every time that you type an email address or name in the message window of MS-Outlook, it automatically offer you a list of users and email address that you can choose. This feature is known as 'AutoComplete' and Outlook automatically build this emails list according to user activity and save it into a file with .NK2 extension. In some circumstances, you may need to repair or modify the values appeared in the AutoComplete list, or you may want to remove unwanted email addresses and/or to add new email addresses. MS-Outlook doesn't provide any ability to edit this AutoComplete list, so this is where NK2Edit software can help you.
NirSoft NK2Edit is a tool designed to manage and modify Outlook's autocomplete functionality by editing the .NK2 files used by Microsoft Outlook. These files store email addresses and names entered in the message window, enabling the AutoComplete feature. NK2Edit allows users to repair, edit, or enhance these lists when Outlook’s built-in features fall short.
Key Features:
- Modify all information stored in the NK2 file, including display names, email addresses, exchange strings, and search terms.
- Remove unwanted email addresses or add new ones manually or from Outlook's address book.
- Copy records between NK2 files or create a new one entirely.
- Extract data from corrupted NK2 files to repair them for Outlook’s use.
- Export NK2 contents to HTML, text, CSV, XML, or Unicode text files for further processing.
- Sort records alphabetically or change their order in the autocomplete list.
- Use command-line support for scripting tasks without displaying a user interface.
Ideal for Outlook users seeking to maintain control over their email autocomplete suggestions, NK2Edit is portable and can be installed via winget. It supports all versions of Windows from Windows 2000 onwards and works with Outlook versions ranging from 2003 to 2019.
