haneWIN LLDP Agent haneWIN Software
winget install --id=haneWIN.LLDPAgent -e
The haneWIN LLDP software implements a LLDP Agent based on the IEEE 802.1AB standard for the Link Layer Discovery Protocol. The Link Layer Discovery Protocol (LLDP) is a protocol for discovering the physical topology in 802 LANs. Adjacent stations are discovered and stored by the LLDP agent for retrieval by a SNMP based network management system. Starting with version 1.3 the software can optionally read and send CDP (Cisco Discovery Protocol) packets. Information received in CDP packets is added to the LLDP MIB database of the agent. The LLDP agent is implemented as a service for background operation on Windows XP/VISTA/20xx/7/8/10/11 platforms. A Control Panel applet provides interactive access to the service. The LLDP MIB is implemented as SNMP MIB subagent for the Windows SNMP agent. The software is shareware.
haneWIN LLDP Agent is a Link Layer Discovery Protocol (LLDP) implementation based on the IEEE 802.1AB standard. Designed to discover and map network topologies in Ethernet LANs, it enables adjacent devices to exchange essential information for network management.
Key Features:
- Operates as a Windows service for background processing.
- Includes a Control Panel applet for user interaction.
- Supports optional CDP (Cisco Discovery Protocol) packet handling since version 1.3.
- Implements LLDP MIB as an SNMP subagent.
- Available in both 32-bit and 64-bit versions.
Ideal for network administrators managing Windows-based networks, haneWIN LLDP Agent streamlines topology discovery and integrates seamlessly with existing SNMP-based management systems. It enhances visibility into network infrastructure while supporting industry-standard protocols like CDP. The software can be installed via winget.
