Most RGB software treats a keyboard as decoration. Keylegend treats it as a display: every key is coloured by what it currently means, and the colouring changes the instant its meaning does. Lock states show on the key itself. Digits, letters, symbols and control keys each take their own colour. Hold AltGr and only the keys carrying an AltGr character stay lit; hold Windows and the shortcuts light up grouped by function. Around ninety application profiles are included, taking effect as soon as a program has the focus. After a configurable idle period the keyboard is handed back so a Chroma Studio effect resumes. Key meanings come from the active Windows keyboard layout rather than a hardcoded table, so any layout works without changes. No global keyboard hook is installed: only modifier and lock states are read, and keystrokes are never intercepted, forwarded or stored.
